Church Life
There are plenty of other church activities that take place during the week.
For younger children of St Monans, there is Sunday School on a Wednesday, held at the Church Hall on Station Road, for an hour from 3.15pm. It runs from September to Easter every school year. It consists of songs, stories and crafts for the nursery and primary school ages and attracts about 30 children every week.
For the children in Largoward, there is Sunday School on a Sunday, at 11am in the Village Hall on St Andrews Road. There is singing and craft activities and the children are then brought to the church to attend the first fifteen minutes of the service, after which their parents are free to collect them.
For the older children (ages 9-13), there is Xplore@Church.Hall. This runs on Tuesday evenings during term time, from 7-8.30pm. This involves food, games, drama, music and discussion.
For adults in St Monans, there is the weekly Guild meeting, also in the Church Hall, on Wednesday evenings from 7pm. It offers a varied programme of worship, talks, music and humour, and in the summer the same slot becomes a coffee evening to which the whole family is welcome.
For the adults in Largoward, there is Coffee & Co, a weekly Wednesday meeting in the Village Hall for an hour from 10.30am. Sitting round a single table, villagers meet to exchange news and make friends.
There are also many other non-scheduled social events, see the Kirk News section for details.
